The ship originally designed in 2008 and built in 2010 was the first to circumnavigate the world in 2012 without a drop of oil, under the name “PlanetSolar”. In 2017, the solar energy system was strengthened with an intelligent kite operated by a robot and hydrogen made from seawater. After sailing the equivalent of four times around the world, Porrima is now ready to industrialise these zero emissions ships which are 20% boat and 80% technologies. These ships support sustainable local economic growth and stimulate entrepreneurship for the common good.

Imagine a zero-emission ferry providing 24-hour mobility to bring people and goods to market. This is the Metro of the Sea. One hundred transport daily 500 tons of produce to the market steadily increasing to 2,000 tons. Every day, this would remove 400 diesel trucks from highly congested roads.
Imagine a Porrima ship buying hydrogen from Blue Energy Systems, which has installed generators and water treatment systems on islands that had been dependent on imported diesel. Cash is flowing into the emerging market instead of outflowing. Growth is secured by this multiplier effect.
